Red Dot if you read this, I would appreciate it if you could comment on where the car data files are that specify all the parts for a car. There must be more information about each car somewhere than I have not found yet or cannot access. So, as of right now you cannot change out any of the parts on / in the cars. I've learned that even if you remove the entire rear end from a vehicle and then try to edit the text file to allow a different rear end, the game will get stuck trying to load your car. In order to learn how to mod the game, I figured it would be smart to first understand what can and cannot be done in the text files found inside the data folder. So probably not a good idea to go Pro Stock on an engine and give it 2000 hp but hey, it's worth testing right?
Too much power and the car will most likely become hard to control. I haven't tried all the engines yet but there will be a sweet spot for each engine. So, you can edit the engine file to give an engine a bump in power and the red line. There was another weird problem with the game, if you hold space down (parking brake) and then step on the gas, you can keep revving the engine till like 24000 rpm.
So it doesn't sound like an engine, more like some computer trying to talk in weird noises. Only bad thing I noticed during my test runs was that when you go in reverse, the engine sound like goes in reverse too. I ran a road test stock, quit the game, did the edit and then did a new road test once the game was loaded again. You could notice the power increase in game play. I was able to change the pushrod V8, called, to the following.
I just did a test on the pushrod V8 to see how modifying the text file for engines effects the game.
